You are free to make changes to your tutor price at any time. There is also an option in your settings to allow Preply to automatically increase your in the search results for certain groups of new students

Preply's commission is only charged when a tutor starts to get bookings from students. The commission for every trial lesson with a new student is 100%. For all the subsequent lessons, the tutor is charged a percentage of the hourly rate (between 18% and 33%). The rate depends on the total number of lesson hours a tutor has taught on the platform.

The more hours you teach on Preply, the lower the rate of commission. The rate starts at 33% for new tutors, but after 20 hours of teaching that goes down to 28%, and so on. You will find that it decreases quickly once you start to get students and teach regular lessons.

Please note that the total number of completed hours is the overall number of teaching hours you have accumulated on the platform (not hours per student). Trial lessons are also counted.

No, you don't get paid for trial lessons. The trial lesson is conducted so the student can get to know you, the way you speak and your methods, and for you to know your student.

Yes! You are encouraged to test out the working of the preply classroom and the resources Preply offers to tutors. Approved tutors can even take a Preply course to learn how to make the best use of the classroom and resources! To give it a try, click on the tab labeled "Learning Plans".

How long are the classes?

• Classes are either 30 minutes or 60 minutes
  

Can I cancel a class?

• You can cancel or reschedule lessons at any time. Canceling trials will affect your stats page.

What if my student doesn't show up?

• You as the tutor are free to cancel the class or reschedule if your student is a no show. You are able to make detailed reports as well, if this is ever the case. A student doing a no show will not affect your stats page.

Can I reschedule if I can't attend?

• Yes! You are free to message your student at any time, cancel the lesson, or reschedule the lesson. Preply allows you to give a detailed reason why and this will not affect your stats page.

The Preply learning plan is your new time-saving tool for easy and effective tutoring. Preply Learning plans are 7 x 60 minutes lesson plans designed for conversation and fluency at 6 different levels.

Preply is a marketplace, where students look for tutors who can help them reach their learning goals. Once your profile is visible in the "Find Tutors" menu, students can view it, send messages, or book lessons with you.

Students can use different filters to find the tutors that match their needs: tutor's specialties, languages they speak, availability, etc. Keeping this in mind, you might want to fill your profile in detail. Please do not hesitate to invest time into perfecting your profile, adjusting your hourly rate, and opening up more availability, because this can increase your bookings.

If your profile is hidden make sure to watch the video Preply advises you to watch, it gives you ideas on how to not miss a trial lesson, and after watching the video your profile will go back online. Make sure you don't miss more than 3 trial lessons, otherwise, Preply might deactivate your account.

If a message from a potential student goes without being responded to for too long, Preply will hide your account until you give the student's message a response.

You will receive both an email and a notification app. We suggest using the app because you can write to your student and check more detailed information.

You can't book a student any classes if they haven't bought a package first. After they buy a package they book the classes themselves. You don't have to ask the student to do that.

If a student needs help booking after they buy the package you can help them out.
